Always exciting if slightly fraught. What will the kiln give me today? Will the glaze work? Will it run right off the pot or be a pleasant surprise? This is the kiln opening of the latest firing, mostly glaze tests.
It's open studio time again. I will be readying the workshop to receive visitors on two weekends in June. Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th, Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th. On all these days I will be there from 10am to 4pm, making work, and talking to visitors about it. Work will also be on sale. There is a South East Open Studios website, with good details of how to find all the venues. My page is at http://www.seos-art.org/tim-harker/ and I feature on page 30 0f the guide.
Here is a shot of the studio as work is being sorted for sale at an event in Rochester last week. Some of the most recent work can be seen on the table, the cylindrical shapes which I will be continuing to produce. I will be testing out a wider range of colourways in the crystalline glaze to use on them and introducing new sizes.
